Born in Evansville, Indiana, Everett moved around regularly with his family in order for his father to secure work. From an early age the Indiana-native played music in his church and subsequently contributed to school concerts and performances. After graduating from high school the singer attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee before dropping out to tour with a pop cover band. A tumultuous period ensued for Everett, however in 2005 the singer-songwriter landed a deal with Epic Records, who issued his debut single “That’s The Kind of Love I’m In” in June 2005. The single charted at No. 52 on the Country Charts and paved the way for his debut, self-titled album in March 2006.

Label: Epic Jace Everett's self-titled debut is loaded with muscle-flexing country rock (and the occasional ballad). But the high polished production here contradicts the grit of his tough vocals, snarling guitars and ham-fisted drums making him come off like a Texas heavyweight boxer fighting in a lavender chiffon prom dress.

The album’s subsequent singles included “Bad Things”, “Nowhere in the Neighbourhood”, and “Everything I Want”, after which Everett received a Broadcast Music Incorporated Award for co-writing Josh Turner’s No. 1 Country Chart song, “Your Man”. Prior to the release of his second album, Everett’s single “Bad Things” was chosen as the theme song for the HBO series “True Blood”. The feature catapulted the singer to international notoriety, with the single charting in Norway, Sweden, and the UK.

The full-length “Old New Borrowed Blues” arrived in November 2008 on Western Records, followed by “Red Revelations” in 2009. The latter peaked at No. 12 on the Norwegian Albums Chart, aided by the Norwegian No. 2 re-released single “Bad Things”. Having signed with Hump Head Records in 2011, the singer-songwriter released his fourth full-length “Mr. Good Times” in September that year, followed by “Terra Rosa” in July 2013.

Biography[edit]

Jace Everett was born in Evansville, Indiana in 1972. His father's jobs kept them on the move through Indianapolis and then St. Louis, MO before moving to Fort Worth, TX at the age of six. He started playing music in his church and in school concerts. He later moved to Nashville, TN to attend Belmont University.[2]

Jace has been married to Nicole Taylor Hart since August 22, 2015. He has a son, Jacques Beasley, born in 1996, and a step-daughter, Lucienne Hart born in 2007.

In 2005, Everett was signed to Epic Records. He released his first single, 'That's The Kind of Love I'm In', in June 2005. This song charted at No. 52 on the country charts, and was followed in early 2006 by the release of his self-titled debut album.[2][3] Also in 2006, Josh Turner charted at Number One on the country charts with the song 'Your Man', which Everett co-wrote, and for which Everett received a Broadcast Music Incorporated award.[3][4] The album's other singles — 'Bad Things,' 'Nowhere in the Neighborhood' and 'Everything I Want' — did not chart in the United States, although 'Bad Things' reached No. 2 in Norway, No. 30 in Sweden and No. 49 in UK in 2009.[5][6][7]

'Bad Things' is used as the theme song for the HBO TV series True Blood.[8] Charlaine Harris pays homage to the song by including 'Bad Things' playing at Merlotte's in the 2010 Sookie Stackhouse mystery Dead in the Family. It won a 2009 Broadcast Music Incorporated award in the cable television category and was nominated for a 2009 Scream Award for 'Best Scream Song of the Year.'[9][10] His album, entitled Red Revelations, was released in June 2009.[11] His duet Evil (Is Going On), a cover of the song written by Willie Dixon, with CC Adcock is part of the True Blood season 2 soundtrack.[12] A new album, 'Mr. Good Times' was released in 2011. His latest album, 'Terra Rosa' was released digitally on July 23, 2013.[13] It was subsequently released on physical formats.[14]
